open process for text update & io buffering

Post by rozek » Sun Dec 09, 2007 9:28 am

Hello!

I'm currently trying to control an external application using

open process ... for text update

and proper

write ... to process
read from process ...

commands. Under WinXP, it works wonderful - under MacOSX, RevStudio receives anything sent from the external process, but that process does not seem to receive anything sent from RevStudio.

Could that be a matter of IO buffering? How do I control it within RevStudio? (I already switched off buffering in the external process)

I'm using MacOS X 10.4.11 and Revolution Studio 2.8.1

Thanks in advance for any help!
Kind regards,

Andreas Rozek

It's broken on OS X. However, the good news is that it seems finally to be fixed in 2.9. So join the beta program and download 2.9.

Best,

Mark

Thanks for the info!

Thus, it seems as if I would have to become a Revolution beta tester ;-)
Kind regards,
