Custom popup menu

Hello,
I thought this was going to be easy turns out I'm wrong or am missing something obvious.

I'm trying to make a horizontal popup menu with custom buttons and just an on mouseEnter to trigger it not an on mouseUp.

I think that actually explains it all.
I've tried groups and mouseLoc and a whole bunch of other stuff but the results are varied.

Anybody have a script of something similar (actually the same would be great as well)?
