Can anyone point me in the right
direction for info/samples using
drag and drop?

There are some excellent stacks out there to do with drag and drop which I'm certain will be useful for you to analyse:

That page has two relevant stacks: Managing Drag and Drop 2, and How to manage drag and drop for files and folders.

Then in User Spaces in RevOnline, under klausimausi, you'll find a neat stack called Drag and drop Lite.
