Web deployment & phonegap etc

Post by robbiefowlerGAIPLH » Sun Jan 22, 2012 4:09 pm

Presumably the Android and iOS deployments are native, but how does the web deployment work?

With frameworks like phonegap or scencha can the web deployment be then made into iOS apps?

Hi Robbie,

no, web deployment requires a browser plug-in on the target machine and this is not available for iOS/Android!

Best

plug in? not very native... So a user needs to download a plugin into his browser? So firstly this will turn a lot of people off using it. Some cant download, wont work on mobiles, ipads etc Sounds a bit like flash that is dying a death

Does not sound too hot

I think it depends on the final users you are trying to get.
I agree that if no plug in were required was better, on the other hand if you already made an application and you want to be on the Web, well, its very easy to do.
