"Newbies", in the sense of new names we have never seen here.

The "Create" forum has a lot of these folks. Odd that they appeared suddenly in that venue, but comforting overall.

Not so odd... Discourse forums are much nicer aesthetically and functionally than the venerable phpBB forums, that sadly didn't really evolve adequately with the times... couple that with exciting new changes and there will probably be a lot more interest there.

Stam.

I was comforted that there was a large audience. I guess it does not matter that we never heard from any of them. They never need help? Shoot, I need help all the time.

No kidding, much more active than this forum...

I hadn't frequented there as I was only able to access the web IDE, which frankly isn't working that well and is too slow & painful and appeared slightly dysfunctional even running it in FireFox. I was waiting on improvements and/or a downloadable IDE.

I purchased a universal licence, but there was no follow up from LiveCode to tell me how to access - zero zilch nada... and email request for support didn't yield any information that I saw.

It was only after re-visiting the forum I saw people posting screenshots of desktop IDEs that I redoubled my efforts and finally found a download link on the website.

I do hope I'm the exception here, and that most others were sent clear instructions on how to access downloads. Not great experience on my end at least. Anyway, finally managed to download the IDE, so I guess I'll be frequenting that forum as well...
