I think it would be easier to set the rect of the stack to the appropriate size during development. In a standalone it can be full screen.

Edit: I should clarify. Manually drag the stack edges to the size that fits your monitor and avoids the LC tools. Note the rectangle and hard code it into a preOpenStack handler inside an "if/else" clause. If the environment is development, use the rectangle, otherwise set it to full screen.
