Re: Windows 11 Help
windows event logs show nothing
Re: Windows 11 Help
It's now happening with Windows 10. The Windows log registers every event as follows:
Faulting application name: TekProtect.exe, version: 6.4.2.0, time stamp: 0x6102893c
Faulting module name: Print.PrintSupport.Source.dll, version: 10.0.19041.1806, time stamp: 0x02b082be

Report Id: 748aed89-ff46-4865-973f-5f960142c085
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:
I did a complete re-install of Windows over the top of the existing installation and then tried to run the program and it appeared on the screen. But before I could do anything else it just quit and won't run again. I also ran an SFC scan prior to the reinstall but obviously that didn't work.
Only happening with one client so far and she is capable enough to get connected via the website. But I hate to think what could happen with some of my clients. I specialize in aiding seniors and you can imagine what we deal with on a daily basis.

Re: Windows 11 Help
Have you checked the Epson site to see if a newer version of their driver is available?no1g8tor96 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 11:59 pmFixed it on my PC. I uninstalled the OEM driver that was installed to make the printer work.
I then went to Epson and got their driver and installed and works fine. Programs run fine now.
My Epson Printer is model ET-3750.
The reason why most installs work is that they have not installed a printer yet.
I dont know if its just EPSON printers but might be others using OEM drivers.
Hope this helps everyone having issues. Mine is solved but still think its a bug with LiveCode somewhere.

Re: Windows 11 Help
Like WebiWan *some* of my clients are reporting this error involving Print.PrintSupport.Source.dll in Windows 10 ... very sporadic ... very annoying since I CANNOT reproduce the issue on ANY Windows 10 platform I have access to.
Has anyone, beyond the discussions in this stream have any further information and/or solutions?

Re: Windows 11 Help
LC can't reproduce it either, it requires specific hardware. But the fix is to delete the printer driver that comes with Windows and download the latest version from the OEM site. For us, the problem is usually with Epson drivers.
If the user doesn't have a printer assigned, delete the driver anyway.

Re: Windows 11 Help
Seemed the most likely solution.
Dr. Raney used to say, "The engine is very good at exposing bugs in drivers."
That used to annoy me, until I followed his advice to make sure I was using the latest driver before writing to him for tech support.
99% of device-related cases I've seen over the decades I've spent with this engine have proved him right.
