I want to learn to program for MacOS and iOS devices.
I have some experience with programming, but not for Apple devices.

I wonder if it is worth to invest in learning LiveCode.
How does it compete against Objective-C (features, speed of the program)?

I want to learn something new, and LiveCode looks very interesting, however I have no comparison to Objective-C programs.
I want to program slick, great looking iOS apps and MacOS applications. Using Apple interface standards and great graphics.

What should I do? Learn Objective-C (steep learning curve) or LiveCode.

Does anyone has experience with both and is able to compare Objective-C and LiveCode for functionality, use and speed of the programs.

I absolutely love Rev. I would say that the only drawback is the filesize; its not like, say, Java, where you would import the specific things you need. Because it can import rev files on the go, it needs the entire engine packed in, no matter what you are doing with it.
And either way, you can use external DLLs, so you are free to use other languages.

I like Revolution and the idea of having Rev/LiveCode available for iPhone is marvelous, but Apple's XCode is more reliable. It is wonderful to be able to create commercial applications with Revolution now, but personally I think 400 euro is a bit expensive given the free solutions such as PhoneGap. I decided not to buy RevMobile yet, but I still might once it proves itself to be perfectly stable and reliable. Unfortunately, there is no trial version of Rev/LiveCode for iOS available as far as I know and hence there is no way to check that it has been improved.
