I have an application that periodically checks a website for a piece of information. If that information is not found, the program waits for a while before checking again. When my application finds what it is looking for it currently beeps a few times to notify me of success. Is it possible to make my program (on a Mac) send a text message to my phone? If it is possible, would you please suggest some things I could research in order to accomplish that. Or better yet, site an example for me.

I suspect you'll have to use an API to a service such as Twilio (i did this for a filemaker app some years ago).
