Version 7.04 (is the latest LiveCode version that) works on RPi

Giving a second thought to my idea about using the RPi to drive the TV.

Instead of using bluetooth (which seems to be complex to setup on RPi) the RPi could be acting as an Access Point and then the LC App installed on the Phone will be talking to the button via Bluetooth and to the RPi via WiFi...

Another option to consider would be to use an Arduino (with an HDMI shield) instead of the RPi. In my view Arduinos are much easier than RPis ...
