Hello,

I have finished creating an app that I want to make available to my business partner, who is currently experiencing issues with his computer, which prevents him from being able to use the Development>Test method of installing the app on his device. Thus, I want to create an APK to email him, so he can install it on an Android smartphone and an Android Tab.

I have had three different issues, and am quite confused about it.

At first, I was getting an error saying something about Provisioning Profiles (I can't recall what it said about them, but something was amiss). Next, I got an error saying some referenced object or file or something was not able to be located, and it included a long filepath describing where said object was supposed to be (? vague, sorry). Last, the one I am still getting is simply saying "could not compile the application class."

So, in general, I would love to have a way of figuring out what these errors mean. In specific, I would like to know how to handle these, so I can create a standalone. Testing on my devices works perfectly fine, by the way.

Let me know if there is anything else I can include to clarify my problem.

I went ahead and created a standalone for another tiny little app I threw together, just to make sure that it should indeed work on my computer, and it did. So, evidently something is wrong with that particular stack, but I don't know how to unearth the issues to correct them.

If anyone has alternative suggestions for how I can go about this without rebuilding my app (maybe I could copy the file to another stack with fresh settings... somehow? Something else...?), I would be delighted to know.

I installed the file attached in the last post by Neil, which just popped up some extra funky looking information when I tried to create the standalone. I had included my company and app name in the Identifier in the Android tab of the Standalone Settings window, but when I reverted it to the default "com.yourcompany.yourapp" string, it worked. Not sure what this really is, anyway, but it worked.

Hopefully this thread may serve other confused souls!

And, unfortunately, I had to make a bug fix, and when I went to try to Save As Standalone, I got the provisioning profile error again. It says "device build requires a Provisioning Profile to be chosen."

Don't know what this is about... I am just building it for Android.

I had this EXACT thought, too, got sidetracked, then afterwards thought I had done it.

SO, you nailed that one and I feel like a moron... but at least a moron with a standalone for my app.

Another good lesson for any potential viewers of my thread here...use ALL of the common sense answers before you REALLY scratch your head and wonder whether you're going to have to rewrite all of LiveCode to make your stinkin' app work!
