standalone attachment

Post by watsonjk » Sun May 04, 2008 6:45 pm

A standalone attached to an email arrives with with a .app suffix. But it doesn't open on a Mac running OSX.4. I tried putting it on the desktop and double clicking it. The icon does the zoom effect as if it is going to open but it doesn't appear on the screen or appear on the dock.

The standalone works fine when not emailed or moved by CD or flashdrive.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Jim

Hi Jim,

There are lots of reasons why a Mac OS X standalone may not run after being sent as an attachment by e-mail. To avoid all these probems, make a zip file of your standalone and send the zip file as an attachment.

Keep in mind that the .app file is actually a folder.

Best,

Mark
