Because that has the way of hiding everything away, rather than "letting it all hang out" so other people can learn from it directly rather than wait until it is rolled into the documentation.

Both are publicly accessible. One will put items that need addressing into the work queue.

Indeed, but things in the Forums, especially if in a section called 'Documentation' will be a whole lot easier to find than 'buried' in the opaque bug reporting thing.

Seems more productive to put things that belong in the documentation into the documentation.

Completely agree.
I do think it is occasionally useful to use Bug Triage subforum as an echo chamber to ensure the report is justified, but usually submitting bugs as above leads to a clear response from LC directly...

The left-hand image is an SVG file, the right-hand image is the SVG file
having been converted into a PNG image using an external editor (GIMP).
