hello there!
i tried almost everything and got down to removing the shortcut
here's what i did:
-went to "/opt/runrev", then go into "livecodecommunity-XXX" and launch "./.x86" ==> it said it uninstalled the darn thing but it didn't work. the process was still runing (checked by "ps ef")
-i removed the .rev/components folder then. same thing still running
-i proceeded then to remove "opt/~/livecode"
at last the beast stopped moving
now i'm stuck with a dead shortcut on my menu
any help, please?
NB :
i tried to reinstall the software but it won't install in .rev anymore and goes to opt, now.
i'm really FED UP with this.

A dead shortcut on my menu . . .
OK, let's start by asking which menu that might be?
Oh, and please read my posting in your earlier thread.
It might be a lot easier for all concerned if these 2 threads were merged.

Re: remove livecode from ubuntu
I spent a bit of time "poking about in the undergrowth" of a laptop I have that is
currently running Xubuntu 20.04.3 and wondered why one should need to remove
LiveCode: after all, unless you are using it, its components just "sit around doing nothing."
That makes little or no sense at all as LiveCode stops running when one selects QUIT from the menu.

Re: remove livecode from ubuntu
Just tried the same sort of thing on a 32-bit ZORIN OS install I just
performed on a repurposed laptop I am giving to the bloke who comes
to do all the heavy lifting round our house.
Having an install of LiveCode that is subsequently not used is neither here nor
there; so no need to uninstall the thing at all.
