Programming easier

I've set up my PC and Mac next to one another, sharing mouse and keyboard with Synergy (Freeware) It's just like setting up dual-monitors, only better.

I do research on the PC to program in LIvecode on my Mac, and whenever I need to do research on a Windows problem, I do it on the Mac and can work on the other computer without having to minimize/maximize etc.

If you have a spare PC lying around - do this!

Hi,

I tried Synergy a long time ago and it made my machines crash. Do you experience any problems?

Hi Mark,

Not at all. When I first started it the mouse on the client moved around a lot and I thought it was because the Mac was "lagging" because it was on the wireless network - then I put a cable in it, but the moving around continued - then I realised the client's physical mouse was lying on an odd surface that causes it, so I just turned it upside down.

It works flawlessly, no lag whatsoever - when I showed my brother he couldn't believe it was two different machines.

Cheers,

Carel

Interesting. I'll give it another try. Thanks Carel.
