Hi.

I live in Manhattan, and I know of at least one person (of dubious repute) who lives in Brooklyn. I am not sure this is enough for a user group.

But that person has recently asked me to go to a hamburger joint with him, like we used to do when we were leading the NYC Hypercard group. Maybe he will read this.

And Catherine, are you still here?

What is it that you are looking for? A dedicated tutor notwithstanding, the best way to learn LC is to keep the lessons, tutorials, user manual and dictionary handy, and start making simple stacks.

There is another way, to peruse the "Complete Hypercard 2.2 Handbook" by Danny Goodman. Hypercard is a precursor and a subset of LC, but if you know the heart of one, you know the heart of the other.

I am willing, like many others, to work with you without limit on any questions and problems you might have along the way. But I cannot provide that tutor thing, at least until I retire. And even if we put together a hamburger meeting with Colin Holgate (Brooklyn) and Catherine Kunicki (also Brooklyn) you would get a meal, some anecdotes, and maybe a good synopsis of how LC works, but little real training.

You already have a way of contacting me, and everyone else, right here. But my email is dunbarx@aol.com.

Also, try the academies by RunRev:
http://livecode.com/academy/
I use them, and I find them really useful.

Or perhaps you could sign up for the LiveCode Summer School:
http://summerschool.livecode.com/index.php/
It has a LiveCode licence, the academies, LiveCode University and lots more.
