Hello,
I want to activate my community version of livecode. Livecode says "an error occured while attempting to contact the server. Please try again later". I'm working behind a firewall with a proxy-server.
Is there a solution for this issue?

Don't want to start a chain of "Me too's", but I am also seeing this. We are in a 10.x.x.x type private network, behind a BlueCoat SGProxy appliance AND a NAT/DMZ/Firewall combination. http and https traffic ought to work. Can't see any way of setting proxy settings in the application OR within the code. Trying on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and on Windows 7 Enterprise.

I had the same problem. My workaround solution was to activate LiveCode on a PC with direct internet connection and copy the license files to the PC behind the firewall.

On Windows 7 these files are located here:
c:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\RunRev\Licenses\

relating to What's new in version 6. There is a section on installing Livecode in my scenario, behind a firewall and for multiple users, and this process involves downloading a licence file from RunRev.

Unfortunately when I succeed in logging in to the My Products area, it knows that I have downloaded the community edition BUT it has no reference to any licence/manual activation files. Unless I am missing something.

I don't know if this helps but I activated mine at home on my Mac and just copied the licence folder in
~/Library/Application Support/RunRev
to the Mac machines in my school and it seemed to work. You have to do this for each user though.
