Re: Standalone anomaly
I, naively perhaps, thought those were included automatically.
Re: Standalone anomaly
Yes, sure they are, but you never know...
Re: Standalone anomaly
Hi Klaus,
I am now getting a message 'There was an error while saving the standalone application' with 27 number codes. This is the latest of several various error messages to appear. I have reported it to LC and asked for their support. I think maybe the stack needs looking at by someone better equipped than me.
Thanks for your concern.

Re: Standalone anomaly
Error 27 = UNUSED

Do you really get this error code?

Re: Standalone anomaly
I think he means there are 27 lines of error codes in the list.
@CAsba: the top line in the list is the important one. The first item is the error number, the second item is the line number in the script, and the third is the character offset in the line.
You can go to Sample Stacks in the IDE and search for "Error lookup" which will tell you what the error codes mean. Or download it at https://livecodeshare.runrev.com/stack/ ... r-Lookup/

Re: Standalone anomaly
Hi,
I found the problem, so I thought it best to let you guys know what caused it.
One of the (awful) error messages I was getting was 'stack revcodeitems' already in memory. Of course this only added to my confusion !
I happened to notice (!) that in the project browser was an entry of that name. I have no idea how it managed to appear there. I deleted it and tried again to make a standalone, and it works perfectly well (phew!) except for one seemingly insignificant new phenomenon, a file 'revsecurity.dll' has appeared in the standalone's folder. I say seemingly insignificant because the standalone works well from a E:\ USB stick from whose folder I deleted the file 'revsecurity.dll'.
Hope this is not toooo fuzzy..

Re: Standalone anomaly
Err . . . well I don't understand it, BUT what I do know is that for 22 years I have used
RunRev/LC to make standalones for Windows, Macintosh and Linux and NEVER (No, that is not a hyperbola)
had an error message EXCEPT when I have tried to choose my own inclusions.
Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair,
So Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn't really Fuzzy, Wuzzy?

Re: Standalone anomaly
I don’t have as long experience as others but have not seen something similar either.
However I would agree you should always manually select inclusions. The automatic detection doesn’t work that well… best to avoid.

I never use the automatic. Been bitten too often with it leaving stuff out.

Re: Standalone anomaly
The revsecurity.dll is used for encryption I believe, and is added to the standalone if the app uses any passwords or other types of encoding.
