That's not the number they're claiming to have, but the number they want to design systems to be able to accommodate, such as the tool palette.

Oh, I see, "1000" is the word that Lego boys use for "a lot of".

So that's of course already perfectly "designed":
The widgets section of the tool palette can be hidden.

The tool palette is on the list for an eventual redesign, if I remember right.

If they are going to try and stick 20 (or "a lot of" :D ) icons into one of the palette groups, I would guess they would have to redesign it just to keep it from running off your screen, either using drop-down groups or tab-groups with scroll-bars, like the power tools pics above or like the .net IDEs did. Or add another palette I suppose...
