mangled scripts

I've always wonder why and how I so often accidentally mangle my own scripts. I just discovered it. Stupid, on my part, but maybe preventable on RR's end.

When using "find" in a script editor window, it's just sort of second nature to hit the return key to find the next item. That's sort of a standard interface thing, I think, at least in other apps.

Unfortunately, in this case, doing so silently deletes the selected word or string. It's realy easy to think, "Oops! I shoulda clicked the find button again," without noticing the harm that has been done.

Maybe the interface is right and I'm wrong, or maybe there's just no good way around this. But if there is a way to prevent such tiresome mistakes, I suppose users would appreciate it.

Cheers, Tim

Hi,

Thank you for your suggestion. I agree that the current find and replace interface can at times be confusing. It seems too easy to delete code by mistake, and there may be no way to undo this operation (a revert may cause the loss of other entered but not applied code).

We will be looking to improve this interface in the future.

Timothy of Marcus, has this been added to Bugzilla already and if not should it be added?
