Icons based in MobGUI fonts
Hi
When I try to use mobi gui mobguicons-1 in design mode, the font doesn't appears correctly, but when I run on mobile emulator works fine.
The mobguicons-2 works fine in both sides.
Regards,
José Donizeti Borges

Hi, José. What version of LC and OS are you using? Can you post a screen shot?

Re: Icons based in MobGUI fonts
I would concur that there is a problem with changing an icon in the normal state. I am trying to use another True Font Icon set and I can change the "touched" state without a problem, but the "normal" state simply displays the alphabetic letter of the font set. I think it is fine when it is a normal button, it only seems to be an issue when behaving as an "option" button.

Hi, Pronosis. Can you tell us which version of LC, which OS and which font? MobGUI doesn't alter font appearances to display line / filled icons, it just switches between uppercase and lowercase. Does the font you are using have line and filled icons? The reason that you can specify different fonts (and characters) for normal and touched state is that you may have found icons from different fonts that you can us in this way. MobGUI pairs the line and filled icons in the same letter, aA, bB, cC, etc... for convenience, but you are free to use different characters from different fonts if required.Pronosis wrote:I would concur that there is a problem with changing an icon in the normal state. Hi John C,
Does one have to use Copy File to include the font?
Or did you take care of that?

Hi, Simon. I put the fonts in a 'Fonts' folder then include that folder using the 'Copy Files' pane in Standalone settings. Then you can just add and remove font files from that folder as required.

Hi John,
I guess that is sort of at least one of the problems above...
Correct me if I'm wrong but;
You must copy the mobguiconsx.ttf in the standalone settings otherwise letters will show up not icons

Simon:
Correct. You need to tell LiveCode (in the standalone settings) to copy/include the font files in the standalone app. Otherwise, when it is launched on the device, the font will be missing. The device will use a built-in system font instead, resulting in it being just a single large character instead of an icon.
I don't think a plug-in can easily automate that the above step. This is a manual step and should be one of the first things you do, at the same time you tell LiveCode you want it to build for iOS or Android instead of Mac.

Thanks - that's definitely worth adding to the docs.

Hi John,
I was thinking that you might have done some automagic to the Copy Files.
Until I tested it.
