Barcode scanner unable to locate play service dependency base version 9.4.0

Post by trevix » Tue Mar 16, 2021 6:01 pm

LC 9.6.2(RC2)
With such scarse documentation, I cannot resolve how to make the Android Barcode scanner work.
I dowloaded the "BC2" example stack (i found it here: viewtopic.php?p=181835#p181835) but when I try to generate the standalone I got this msg:
"unable to locate play service dependency base version 9.4.0"

If I understand, enabling in the LC inclusions the "Android Barcode library" and the "Android Barcode Scanner" is what generates the error.
Reading here and there, if I understand, I came up with the idea that this widget need the "Google Services" being enabled on the SDK.

So I went to Android studio, loaded "Google Play services" on the SFK tools and relaunched LC.
No good. Cannot install.

Do I got it all wrong?
Thanks for any help

I have seen that but, having Android studio 4.1, I though that it wouldn't apply.
Are you suggesting to do that?

Hi Trevix,

yes, I am also on macOS with Android Studio 4.1 and that workaround did the trick for me!

Best
