Hey guys, I'm testing out the 60 day trial version of LiveCode and for some reason my Android app just doesn't go past the splash screen.

I simply made a "Hello World" app, where a button outputs the string "Hello World" into a field. That's it, very simple. I then followed the tutorial from RunRev's Lesson page about how to setup Android, and I got that working no problem. I setup the SDK path under Preferences, and also setup the Standalone Application Settings. I got it installed and working fine on my phone, however it just shows the splash screen and doesn't go past it.

I only see the message saying something like "this application was constructed with a trial version of livecode, it will close in 1 minute".

BTW, this isn't a problem if I connect my phone to my PC directly through ADB, it works fine. However, using LiveCode to create the .apk file, then installing that on my phone will only show the splash screen.

Welcome to the forum!
I don't have an answer for you but I wanted to assure you that your not being ignored.
One of the problems with your question is that it's been so long since I (others) have worked with the trial versions it's hard to test.
But soon LC will be open source and you wont have to trouble yourself with trial versions
For now I wouldn't worry about being able to install on Android -It Does Work!

It seems that I recall that I had issues if I first tested on my handset using debug mode with a cable and then copied a regular deployed version over via DropBox. I had to delete the app from the phone and then install the apk version. Also, I think to install from an apk file I had to create a self-signed certificate as the developer certificate didn't work for a standalone app.

Well, I did delete it (regardless whether I installed it via TEST or installing the .apk file manually on my phone), I do that before I tried to install my app through whichever method and it still doesn't work.

In fact, sometimes installing through "TEST" by pushing it to my device through ADB, it sometimes gets stuck at the splash screen as well. I didn't change any settings or add anything, so I dunno what's up with this.

I am anxious for the Open Source version to be released as well. I am a VIP Support from the KickStarter campaign though my tag has not shown up yet. I am also using the 60 day trial and having the same issues. My problem is I want to see items that are only visible actually on the phone and not in the emulator. I am standing by with excitement.

Me too. Android app is stuck on splash screen in 60-day trial version.

I am also a Kickstarter supporter anxiously awaiting the open source version.
