Sub-to-srt now adjusts intervals

Post by jameshale » Sun Mar 05, 2023 2:43 am

Hi,
I have just added a feature to the sub-to-srt stack that will adjust the length of a individual subtitle to be no more than 3 words per second.
I have quite a few old DVDs which I am in the process of digitising but which have no subtitles.
There are also no subtitles on the web.

I discovered Mac Whisper https://goodsnooze.gumroad.com/l/macwhisper which for Apple silicon and can quite quickly (up to 15x times) transcribe lengthy bits of audio in over 100 languages into text with timestamps and can export this as a SRT file.
It gets the text right and the start timestamp of each line of text right, but doesn't get the end timestamp correct.
It seems by default the end timestamp of one line is this start timestamp of the next.

Hence the new feature for sub-to set.
