How does one set a stack [in the plug-ins folder?] to open at startup?

See screenshot:
1. Open "Plugin Settings" in menu -> Development -> Plugins
2. Select your plugin from the popup at the top of that stack
3. Click "Open plugin when" -> Livecode starts up
That's it!

That's a fantastic answer: easy to understand.

Thank you!

Hmmm.

Both HC and LC still support the "startup" message, and there is still a "Home" stack in LC. But I have never been clear what that stack actually does.

In HC is was a true "home", a base where one could manage other stacks and properties. A startup message there was useful, at least to me, back in the day. But in LC, where it is labelled little more than the "License" stack, what does it do?

I suppose one could hack the 'Home' stack of LC to resemble the HyperCard Hone stack, and mimic its functionality.

Not sure that would work. In HC, it is not mandatory that the home stack open. If you open another stack from the desktop "home" does not open automatically.. Though it is a repository of fundamental gadgets, it does not have to come first.

Your question, I believe, was to open a stack upon machine startup, no? That is why Klaus mentioned a plug-in. They can be configured to open at session startup, however you deal with them afterwards.

What I want to is have a palettised stack to replace both the revTools and the revMenubar stacks that allows people who are physically disabled to write stacks in LiveCode using a simple joystick control.
