LiveCode Manuals
Are there any printed LiveCode books/manuals available ?
Re: LiveCode Manuals
Only some (very) outdated ones, you can search Amazon if you want a book as such. There is a video course you can purchase on Udemy that is probably quite good for new users, and probably better than the books to get you off the ground. There are quite a few free youtube videos. For example have a look at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCc8fk-7Qjk
There is a user manual that is included with the IDE (PDF) that may be of help.
LiveCode do offer a huge amount of learning material - free in the case of 'lessons', but not structured as a tutorial in the language, more of a problem-response type resource.
They also offer more structured stuff as well, but behind a paywall. I suspect this stems from the time when LC was opensource and this was intended as an income stream - but i wonder how this did and if it's not just worth releasing all of this stuff for free now... You may want to look at LC university for example.
If all else fails just ask questions here and people will help

Re: LiveCode Manuals
The User Guide that Stam referenced is an excellent starting resource. With more than 650 pages in PDF format, it covers a lot of ground well to get the new user started.
How much of the User Guide have you read, and is there a specific development topic on your mind at the moment we may be able to help with?

Re: LiveCode Manuals
Starting out may seem daunting, even given the ease of learning LiveCode. The issue is that LiveCode is a much larger program than you will likely need for quite a while, but ALL of it appears at once when you begin to dive in to the manuals and lessons.
I really like Excel. I use perhaps 5% of its capabilities.
So Richard's post is important; if you have a particular task you want to begin with, let us work together on it. We can point you to the relevant assets of the program and the language you will need. All this while you are working your way through.
