Is Hibernated a euphemism?

Is 'Hibernated' a euphemism for 'b*gger you'?

It certainly is not informative, nor hopeful.

Having discussed this with several team members, I can speak authoritatively on this:

"Hibernated" is a useful status label for those bug reports where immediate action cannot be taken, but which merit inclusion for future consideration.

In some cases, the nature and or age of the report may make it seem like perhaps closing the report would be the simpler choice. But in discussing this with team members across a variety of "hibernated" reports over the years, in each case there turned out to be very good reason why they wish to keep the report open, even if it's of seemingly little practical value to the casual passerby.
