What Users want from the next version of LiveCode
It would be interesting if Forum members could post what they'd like LiveCode to concentrate on next.
Re: What Users want from the next version of LiveCode
Revamped database connexion system. We seriously need that ! No evolution (with the exception of support of new version of SQLite) since ages.
Revamped printing system. The weak point of LC (i mean the differences between "display" and "print" on Windows is really 20th century....)
If we get those 2 points, then LC will become a killer for business/companies applications.

Ultrafast testing on mobile or emulator a la node.js/reactnative, make a change, see it directly.
More LCB lessons, let us see how to use sdk's.
Independent ads suppliers integration(mobile), i think this can be done using the sdk from Google or Amazon or whatever, and an injection in the manifest, and LCB.
And more awareness with companies that this is a great IDE.(but i think most are choosing for the free alternatives like react/azure/eclipse. and perhaps this is not for this list)
Get the browser working on Linux.
Printing on mobile.(Now it is create and pdf and print that, or send the text to an browser aka Chrome or whatever and print from there)

All of the above and:
- Better automatic add inclusions to make generating executables go without any problems. This truly should be an automatic process!
- And again to show that I find it really important to get LC on board of mobile development. Independent ads suppliers integration(mobile)!
- The possibility to create many beautiful charts with a minimum of effort. There are some very good open-source opportunities to integrate into LC so LC developers only have to program the interfacing. My personal favorite is https://echarts.apache.org/en/index.html

That presupposes the LiveCode team can revive: and, as far as I can see, they are bit under the weather
at the moment.

Re: What Users want from the next version of LiveCode
HI All,
I didn't know I would have to come on here and explain myself.
I have had a PM with the title Criminals? Asking if I meant to link to a Cartoon criminal.
First off I would have to go to see my doctor If i managed to link to a specific video by accident. But secondly I never thought of Dick Dastardly as a criminal (more like somebody cheating on the Egg and Spoon race at school).
At any rate I linked to Muttley cursing and Muttering under his breath how anybody could insinuate criminals from that I don't know but if there is one there are probably more.
I shoot from the hip and if I think someone is a Criminal I would say it or just vote with my pocket. - I wouldn't gild the lily or use euphemisms as a pusillanimous cop-out. I also wouldn't have donated to the latest call for help. I was merely saying that priorities have gone out the window and things we were promised 4 years ago have not materialized (infinite livecode mention above). We have also lost Hermann for the same reason and some damn good programmers to boot.

Thierry's BBEdit Language Module for LiveCode.
He is too busy to clean up and document and release.
Please buy it from him (and then contract him to keep it up to date)!

Especially if you think they are more important than a lot of other things.
