Searching using commom words?
I want to search the forum for posts about the "use-livecode list" (because I've stopped getting posts from there and I want to see if the list is down or if the problem is on my end). I didn't use the hyphen in the search because the hyphen would indicate to ignore the following word. But the search engine disallows all three words as being too common. Is there a way to do this?

Which search engine would that be then?the search engine disallows all three words
I'm fair-to-middling this is a . . . Buh, Buh, Buh . . . T post.
Re: Searching using commom words?
When using a search engine to search the site as Richmond suggests, if you want to get any mention of a term, make sure that site: is first in the line. This tells the engine to go to that site, and search it. For instance, here is a comparison with 'site:' and without 'site:' done on startpage (google results without google, but with privacy) -
While not a strict necessity for all search engines, it does remove ambiguity for the engine.

The mailing list is separate from the forums and there is no list content here. The list is archived on nabble:

Thanks for the responses to my post.

Yes, I am aware that the two entities are separate. I was trying see if an announcement had been made that the use-livecode list was down . I have seen such announcements in the past, but didn't remember where they had been made. This forum seemed like a likely candidate, which is why I was trying to search here. Thanks for the reminder that I could go to napple directly to see if the list was active.

That would be the built-in search tool for the forum. (I always forget that I can use outside search engines. Thanks for the reminder.)Which search engine would that be then?
