I'm a newbie so not sure how it all works yet.

Want to talk about something that isn't covered by another category?

What are the requirements for being able to add a link or file attachment to my posts on the forum? Really need to as it would probably save a lot of time people being able to see my mistakes first hand if I were to share the program rather than me trying to figure it out based on what people say.

Thanks

Hi,
Welcome in this forum
What are the requirements for being able to add a link or file attachment to my posts on the forum?
You will can do it after you posted 10 messages.

Ah, thank you. Was there actually somewhere to find that out or was I being dumb?

Still says that my account does not have permission to post links. So I am unsure of what to do.

Links, I'm not sure.
But attachments, you should be able to now I believe, but a livecode file is not an accepted filetype. You will need to zip the file first and then use the "Upload attachment" tab below the message composition window to then find the "Choose file" button to select the (zipped) file and then the "Add the file" button. File size must be reasonably small - the only time the size has been a problem for me was when using a stack with many embedded high res images.

When you're actually typing a post? No Options/Upload attachment tab below the draft/preview/submit buttons?

I see the upload attachment tab, I click choose file and it all seems to work fine, when I click add file it loads for a while and then completely clears my post

We get a lot of spam activity here, and it takes an army of moderators a lot of time each week to keep the forums safe and clean for everyone. We appreciate your patience.

What issues were you having with LiveCode? I'll bet we can help get you started even before the link privileges kick in.

I have another thread in the Creating Games section where you would find out that problem rather than bring that here as well. But for now thats all, thanks though and I appreciate all the help from everyone.
