Although is there an Applications directory within that CoreServices directory?

I remember reading a Blog by Kai Kraus (the genius behind Bryce) about 24 years ago . . .

He decided to take a year 'off' and packed a suitcase of CDs of Bryce 2, and set off. When he landed in Indonesia (? might be wrong, 24 years is quite a time), he said everyone said, "Oh, we've already downloaded that." He wrote that he was so happy that people had been empowered by his software he really didn't care that they had not paid for it.
Long-delayed thread revival: I remember watching Kai Kraus at a press event in the 90s, back when I was tech ed at MacUser. He literally told people to give his software away, saying 'give it to your Uncle, your friends.' He followed up by adding "if someone makes money with it, then they should go buy it."

I was standing at the back of the room next to his PR agency team, and they were absolutely cringing!

I remember reading that Kia Krause was working with Roger Dean on something, sometime in the early or mid 1990s. Some of you people may recognize Roger Dean's alien-landscape-scenes album cover art (in a style that Jame's Cameron's Avatar ripped off wholesale) mostly for the band YES. To me that made perfect sense, seemed like a perfect match-up for artistic collaboration, but I can't remember anything that came of it. Kia's software / plug-ins were really cool and fun. When my kid's were little they absolutely loved playing with Kia's Power Goo.

Well, inspired by maybe more than ripped off? :)

Roger Dean is still around btw. I work at Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival every year. This year Rick Wakeman played his entire 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth', and Roger Dean designed this year's festival t-shirts! The crew shirts even have a Yes-like "crew" on the back. He was signing and selling prints during the festival, but I didn't have time to go see any of that.

That's awesome!

Oh I know Roger is still around, I've been a huge fan of his work and also a big ProgRock and Yes fan nearly my entire life. I just went to see an 80 year old Jon Anderson perform last week, and he sounded GREAT! I'm also a Wakemaniac, and just found out that due to scheduling/venue change, Rick Wakeman will be playing at nearby town in early November!

Years ago (2002) I listened to Roger talk extensively about the case against Cameron on the steps outside of NEARFest concert in Trenton, NJ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEARfest), he seemed to think there was some ripping off. Having seen some of the comparisons used to argue that, I tend to agree with him. Unfortunately for Roger, after many many years, the courts ultimately did not agree with him on that.
