Something that will be in the 1.3 release of Inkscape:

Wouldn't that be lovely . . .

Of course, you can do this sort of thing in GIMP without too much effort, but you end
up with something that is going to go 'all jaggy' should you decide to resize it.

HOWEVER, having downloaded the latest development version, the thing does not seem to have been implemented yet.

Let's see what we CAN do in LiveCode, and what we CANNOT do.

1. Exported 2 frames from the GIF image as PNG images via the good offices of GIMP:

Pretty silly really, but they will be useful as guides inwith Livecode:

-
Imported those 2 images into a stack, and set the transparency level of the left-hand one to 50%.

Start setting up Oval graphics over the template image:

Setting up colours and a 0 width border:

Set up a regular triangular polygon graphic rotated by 30 degrees.

Scale and duplicate:

Line up 2 squares:

Remove the template image:

Group ALL the graphic bits and bobs:

I wonder WHERE that grey artifact at the bottom came from?

Oddly enough, that grey bit subsequently vanished for no obvious reason:
-
SShot 2023-02-04 at 18.15.14.png
-
Duplicate and attempt to scale:

SShot 2023-02-04 at 18.17.50.png

A load of rubbish as I locked the constituent graphics.

Let's see what happens now:

As the white graphics ARE white, rather than sections subtracted from the underlying grey
graphics the group is NOT transparent:

Attempting to SCALE the group results in the 'development' of a pale grey background, and NO scaling takes place:

So that, as my Granny would have said, is "Nae guid at aal."

Stack attached: your mileage may vary.

LC 9.6.3, MacOS 13.2

Well, well, well; at least it occupied me while sitting at home with a heavy head cold and a strong headache. :D

Of course you can compose the image in GIMP or Photoshop, export is a a PNG, then do a trace
in Inkscape or somesuch and import the SVG into LiveCode:

The forums do not allow one to upload raw SVG images, so my example is zipped.

Of course this thing is scaleable:

-
BUT it completely misses my point. :(

I had a temperature during the nigth, and my diseased mind was going round and round
in circles about BLEND / INK:

And so to Memory Lane:

RunRev 4, MacOS Siberian Tiger (10.4.12), with all those blends that LiveCode later dropped:
