SDK challenges after failed Big Sur upgrade.

Post by Jim Mac » Sat Jan 02, 2021 9:24 pm

I had an upgrade to Big Sur go bad. Had to do a clean install and my backups seem worthless. I decided to go ahead and rebuild from scratch. I'm having trouble getting Mobile Preferences setup and thought I'd see if anyone has any advice.
I had concerns about Android prep.. but they seem to not have been critical and I consider the fixed....(viewtopic.php?f=53&t=35186)

SDKs:
Running LC 9.6.2 (RC 1) and Big Sur (11.1)
I have the following xCodes available: 12.3, 11.4.1, 11.3.1 11.2, 11.1, 10.1, 10.0, 9.4.1 - I accidentally threw away a pile of earlier versions as they weren't Catalina/Big Sur compatible....
The Release Notes say LC supports building against SDKs: 14.1 (Xcode 12.1); 13.2 (11.3), 12.1 (10.1), 11.2 (9.2) and 10.2 (8.2)
In Mobile Preferences, I've selected my 10.1 and 11.3.1 and gotten SDKs 12.1 and 13.2 "registered". None of the other xCodes add anything and the "Available SDK box" stays RED... I know enough to know it changes to green when LC is ready.

QUESTIONS:
1) Shouldn't I be able to build apps for the added SDKs? When I try, I get "There was an error while saving the standalone application. In order to perform deice builds, you must have iOS SDK 14.1 configured - iOS 14.1 cones with Xcode 12.1".
- Does this mean Xcode 12.3 doesn't come with 14.1?
- I assume I need to download Xcode 12.1 but that seems like the wrong approach? I'll do it but would appreciate a hint as to why I need to....

2) Do I need have ALL the SDKs for the SDK box to go GREEN. Does the color of the box matter?

Yesterday I had all sorts of issues with Provisioning profiles showing up but they're there now so..... never mind.

UPDATE:
Downloaded Xcode 12.1, selected it in Mobile Preferences and.... iOS 14.1 shows up and the box goes green!
Will try building standalone tomorrow. Guess I mistakenly thought LC 9.6.2 was supposed to allow 12.3?

I am having the same issue. Same versions of all. I was able to compile in 12.1 but my phone would not let me install saying it needs 12.3. How can we get this resolved.

Thanks

I have had the "you need to have 12.3" message, but if I drag the app to the appropriate drop area, below the error messages, it will still load the app onto my phone. The previous version of Xcode had an the same error message, but it was not as "up front" about it.
