ERROR ITMS-90174: "Missing Provisioning Profile

Post by Volker » Fri Mar 13, 2020 6:32 pm

Hello ,

I've been trying to upload my App Build to iTunesConnect for a long time. It always comes with the error:

ERROR ITMS-90174: "Missing Provisioning Profile - Apps must contain a provisioning profile in a file named embedded. mobileprovision."

The file embedded. mobileprovision is included in the package.
I did the following:

1. Creation of a Certificate Signing Request CSR file
2. Creation of a distribution certificate for ios apps with specification of the CSR file
3. Creation of an app ID: com. vbsoft. tecdoku
4. Create a new app in iTunesConnect with the correct build id: com. vbsoft. tecdoku
5 Creation of a distribution profile with indication of App Id and distribution certificate
6 Build with correct internal ID: com. vbsoft. tecdoku and correct distribution profile
- In the info plist file the line with UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend was deleted.
7 Generated build TecDoku. app pushed into playload folder.
8 Playload folders zipped and renamed to TecDoku. ipa.
9 Uploaded with transporter.

Then the following error message:
ERROR ITMS-90174: "Missing Provisioning Profile - Apps must contain a provisioning profile in a file named embedded. mobileprovision."
The file embedded. mobileprovision is included in the package.
I work with the following configuration:

Livecode 9. 6. 0 and Xcode 11. 1 and MacOs 10. 14. 6

I already have a small - Hello world - test app with a new app ID and a new app in iTunes Connect with the same error message
Anyone with the same problem has found the solution?

Many thanks
Volker

Hi Voker, not sure if this is going to fix your problem but I guess in #8 you have to rename the file to "application.ipa".

Hope it helps.

Simon

Hey

I have now continued to test and noticed something strange:

I worked with Livecode 9 .5 . 1 and Xcode 10 .1 again and tried to transfer my app with the Application Loader.

Trial 1:

- Renamed folder with the TecDoku .app in Playload
- Playload folder compressed and renamed to TecDoku .ipa
- Uploaded with Application Loader.

Then: ERROR ITMS-90174: "Missing Provisioning Profile - Apps must contain a provisioning profile in a file named 'embedded .mobileprovision'."

Trial 2:

- TecDoku .app directly compressed
- TecDoku .zip uploaded in the Application Loader

Then: No error message. Upload successful.

Then email from Apple: Please upload the file in ipa format. Please repeat

Trial 3:

- TecDoku .app directly compressed
- Renamed TecDoku .zip to TecDoku .ipa
- Upload TecDou .ipa in the Application Loader

Then: Error Build must contain a Playload folder.

I do not get it.

Maybe someone can help me

regards Volker

Hi Voker, is probably a typo but the Folder has to be renamed to "Payload" and not "Playload" as you mention...

Who knows...

Thanks bogs.

The fact that I didn't check Wikipedia is the best proof that I'm indeed ...DOH!!! (now that I know what it is!)

Have a nice weekend

I always spelled it "duh", and I still do, but then the Simpsons came along and used DOH and everyone started spelling it that way, which mildly irritates me even still. It isn't pronounced "dough".

This should be my worst problem.

(Sure thIs is trivial, but what the hey :P ) I believe there is actually a difference between "duh" and "DOH!", for instance, you might say to someone "duuuuhhhhh" to indicate that a question really was as stupid as they thought it was  but "DOH!!" is (at least in my experience) never longer than the three letter sound looks, and (again, at least in my experience) is always an exlamation.

You might well say "duh" to someone else because of their action or response, but I don't think I've ever heard "DOH!!" said by anyone to anyone or about anyone, it is almost exclusively a self reference, therefore "DOH!!" does not replace "duh".

Wikidifference actually puts it much better than I did up there, although apparently they believe one person can "DOH!!" someone elses mistake...
https://wikidiff.com/doh/duh wrote: As interjections the difference between doh and duh is that doh is expresses surprise and consternation at a stupid mistake made by oneself, or another person while duh is disdainful indication that something is obvious.
It isn't pronounced "dough".
Well, "DOH!!" is, "duh" is not.

Hello all,

@Volker

It is not the "TecDoku.app" bundle that needs to be renamed to "Payload" and then compressed.

It is the folder containing the "TecDoku.app" bundle that needs to be renamed to "Payload" and then compressed.

See this lesson:

http://lessons.livecode.com/m/4069/l/33 ... -app-store

Kind regards,
Panos
