iOS specific documentation

Post by dcope » Thu Jul 14, 2011 11:37 am

Hi,

Is there any iOS specific documentation detailing what's currently implemented in LC 4.6.2?

The trail version does not let me activate without purchase!!!!!
The large PDF available for download does not mention iOS.
The online docs do not mention iOS specific commands/functions.

Sheezh - how hard does this have to be.

I only want to evaluate the iOS externals SDK (which I've installed ok), so I would like to know what is already in place.

Got to say, I like the look of the iOS SDK, but I'd only be interested in developing externals as a possible cottage industry activity. Not keen on wasting £65.00 just to find basic research information!

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Kind regards, David.

Hi David,

Personally, I think that the current one-minute limit on compiled iOS apps is ridiculous. There is no way to test, because the app quits by the time it has started up.

Anyway, here are the release notes for iOS. I hope this helps.

Thank you very much Mark. It's funny, I poked around on the Rev website for info and completly missed the release notes - duh!

I didn't know about the one minute time limit! Good God. I assume that is in the trail version - yes, I agree it's not long. I was able to download a trial version from my account, but it would not let me activate! At some point you just think - sod it! I'll look elsewhere. I'm developing in native objective-C and have used Rev professionally in a previous life. It seemed like a good idea to combine the two as I've always enjoyed the metaphors used in MetaCard/Rev to making programming accessible for people with domain expertise.

I'll have a good read of the release notes. I don't mind buying a version to do external development with, but I'd hate to think I need more than the personal version - after all it's just for device testing.

Thanks again. David.
