Dear forum members,

We are pleased to announce the release of LiveCode 9.5.1 STABLE.

** Note 9.5.1 STABLE is the last planned release in the 9.5.x series **

Getting the Release
===================
You can get the release at https://downloads.livecode.com/livecode/ or via the automatic updater.

Release Contents
================

LiveCode 9.5.1 STABLE contains more than 20 bugfixes and improvements compared to the previous (9.5.0) STABLE version, including the long standing crash-when-debugging issue, originally fixed in 9.0.5.

Notes:

- Building with Xcode 11.x is *not* supported in LC 9.5.1, but in any case, you do NOT need to build your standalone with Xcode 11+ to support deployment to iOS 13+ devices. You can still use Xcode 10.1 to build the standalone app, and it will continue to run on iOS 13+ devices.

Hello Richmond,

This is because the app is not notarised (yet), so it shows this dialog on Catalina.

You should be able to go past this by right-clicking on the .app file and then choose "Open", instead of double-clicking.

I _think_ this was discussed in the use-list a while ago.

Kind regards,
Panos

Thank you very much.

Tore Nilsen just helped me out via the Use-List.

Why was this released before being notarised?

Hi I have tried to download LiveCode 9.5.1 at least 4 times. When the updater completes the download I get a message that "an error occured, Update wasn't successful." (roughly)
I have never had problems before. I have a Macbook Air macOS Mojave Version 10.14.6.
Thanks For the help.
Tom

Just out of curiosity, have you tried downloading it directly, instead of through the updater?

That Cloudflare thing seems to cause no end of problems.

Sorry it took so long to reply but downloading directly worked!
Thanks Bogs

I have a suspicion that the updater is the cause of several other issues with the IDE. Unfortunately I have no evidence to back up this suspicion, nor a recipe. I do frequently get IDE performance issues, and sometimes when I go hunting sround I find the updater task running. Killing that off, things often settle down a bit. But so does turning off and on again.

That's a scunner.

Can you not "just" locate the updater executable (on Windows) and remove it?

I never tried, because of the assumption that when running LC it tries to execute the said updater, and if it were not there, I didn't want to discover whether that made it hate me. That's when I remembered to think about it, which I mostly don't until it's too late and already running.
