LiveCode 6.0.1 test release available

Post by heatherlaine » Tue Apr 23, 2013 1:06 pm

Dear Forum Members,

We're pleased to announce the release of LiveCode 6.0.1 RC 1. Please note that this is a test release, not a final version, and as such it may be unstable, have bugs, or generally exhibit unexpected behaviour. Before using it, you should back up your work. We are making it available so that we can gather as many reports as possible on as wide a set of systems as we can, before going to the final gm release. Bug reports should be submitted via the Quality Center:

http://quality.runrev.com

This maintenance release is an update to the previous stable release and contains 18 fixes and updates. The most notable include:

- iOS device builds now possible in the community edition.
- revBrowser, revSpeech and revVideo grabber externals now available in the community edition.
- The community licence agreement has been updated.

For full details see the release notes:

Bug 10898 has been added to the database

I can not find revbrowser.dll in the externals folder. This may be causing the problem

See bug 10849 - it should be fixed in the next release, and in the meantime the bug report has the missing file attached.

Greetings,

Is there a date established to make v6.x available to the commercial licenses holders via the store?

Thanks

It's available, but not to existing licenses (you need to buy a new one). If you very recently bought 5.x.x, support might give you a rebatte if you ask them for it.

Last month I paid an annual support renewal for ~$250 US in anticipation of the promised 6.x upgrade. I now hear from internet posts, that i have to re-buy a license to get 6.x (~$500 US).

This is very confusing, as i am usually accustom to software maintenance contracts covering upgrades. Had I know your approach, I would have just purchased the the v6.x license.

Please let me know what we can do to get 6.x in the most economic method

Thanks
