Hi, will you consider making LC free for learning, and charge for building and distributing (like Xojo does, for instance)? As of now, a new user has to pay as much as a developer, it's quite weird.

All users are with you on that one... lots of discussion about this in the forums which I won't reiterate these here, but you can search if you're really interested...
You do still have the option of using the last available community (opensource) version 9.6.3 (you can google for installer downloads), probably OK for most uses assuming it will run on your system (there is also an opensource movement to try and maintain this)
Personally I still think micropayments to purchase non-contiguous months used, rather than traditional subscription models would have felt fairer and (importantly) more enticing for new users, while ensuring ongoing investment from professional users with long-term purchase discounts (an example of this can be seen with the PanoramaX payment model: https://www.provue.com#pricing).
But then again what do I know... I can't comment on value or viability of something like this for LC Ltd, but I'm pretty sure it would present a much lower barrier to adoption if 'free' is not viable (and it's fair to say that based on their many-year opensource experiment it wasn't)...

Way back when there were free versions of what was then RunRev that could NOT hive off standalones . . .
And before that there was DreamCard, similarly non-standalone-capable thing for a modest sum.

As I mentioned in a different post, one solution for teaching/learning/non-profit would be to have linux-only version that can only build for linux and not Mac/Win/Mobile. This would be of no interest to LC's paying clientele as , as LiveCode Create does not appear to have a linux offering and would offer enthusiasts a way in with no paywall unless they wanted to develop for the other (money-making) platforms.
Most can run a live linux of a USB or in a VM - or like I've done recently just install this on an old machine. Since LCC cannot be used to build Linux apps, this does not erode their target audience (unless of course they are planning to release a commercial version for Linux in the future).
As it stands they could just remove from LC10 the ability to do x-plat and to be linux only and release it opensource. That may go a long way to offering a learning environment that will not impinge on their money-maker, and who knows, with enough noise the OSS community may be more attentive.
But for that to be successful it would need to be marketed well to Linux communities as well - or the OSS side will not progress.
