There doesn't seem to be a way to label the axes. Is this correct? If so, is there any way it could be added?

do you mean like a description for the axis, similar to this picture has x and y labeled (linked from wikipedia)? If that is what you need, then there's currently no way to do it, and a fix is probably not close by, sorry. I do have added a feature request to my files, but don't know when and if I get around to implement it at this point.
