Academic Use Case #4

Post by richmond62 » Tue Oct 04, 2022 12:04 pm

I have 7 cats at home: one indoor cat and 6 outdoor cats.

I WAS feeding those outdoor cats twice a day: inevitably they are now bashing on the doors and windows
importuning me for 'lunch' as well as 'breakfast' and 'supper'.

The lecturer in Bengali resembles the stray cats in some respects (however not so furry),
insofar as having 'got' their flashcards of Bengali conjunct consonants . . .

. . . which, academic though they may be . . . they have NOT realised are NOT proper Bengali
conjunct consonants at all, just the usual halantam 'fudge' nonsense . . .

. . . they now want flashcards to demonstrate the composition of those conjuncts
(which anyone with a bit of thought should be able to work out from a glance . . .

real conjunct consonants

anyway, mine not to reason why, "only to do or die", or, far more realistically,
tip my hat and say "Thank you very much" when they lob me $50.

I am not going to bother to post any code as any semi-competent coder (and I should like to think I am semi-competent)
could work out how to do that is a brace of shakes.

Suffice it to say, academics go a bundle on this type of stuff, and it means that "Margery the abused secretary"
does not have to spend her life in drudgery preparing this sort of stuff by hand.
