You could try to run ubuntu virtual on you Mac via virtualbox for Mac OS.
Also very easy for testing purposes...

See how here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJcc-xC6krE or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AnlvTgsoYM
Download here: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

I personally love the 64b Linux Mint edition with the Cinnamon desktop which is based upon Ubuntu. Very userfriendly!

I'll stick with XFCE: imagine Windows XP without
all the %^&*$ of Windows. :D

Just curious mrcoollion, Is that vers. 5.5.x on 'buntu 10 (or 12) ?
I can only be one of those due to the upload date of the video. However, I can not tell you which Ubuntu version it is.. :( Sorry... The interface does not gives me a clue...

Is this important for you ? :?:

Paul

I am sorry, I thought you were the originator of the video
The importance to me is only for my own verification, and does not really do anything for advancing the thread. Sorry to have bothered/pm'd you

As one gets oriented to Ubuntu after years with Mac or Windows, this book can be very helpful:

Beginning Ubuntu for Windows and Mac Users, by Nathan Haines
https://www.apress.com/gp/book/9781484229996

Nathan is a long-time friend, and co-organizer with myself of the UbuCon event at the SoCal Linux Expo. Professionally he's provided a wide range of tech consulting on all major platforms for decades, and is a darn good writer, able to take the reader from complete noob to competence in just under 200 pages.
