Hi there,

trying to install livecode but I get this message: "unable to create required folder at '/opt/runrev/livecodecommunity-7.0.0."

Anyone solved this issue?

Thanks!

Marco

Are you running from an admin or non-admin account?

Ideally it should install with either account type regardless whether you choose "All Users" or "You Only", but there's been an issue with elevating privileges appropriately from a non-admin account when choosing "All Users", which perhaps wasn't fully fixed in this release.

For now, you can either install LiveCode for "All Users" from an admin account, or from a non-admin account choose "You Only".

Hi FourthWorld,

choosing "you only" from a non-admin account solved the issue.

Thanks!

I install a brand new Ubuntu and then i got the same result. Heaven in a virtual machine...

What can i do ?

It sounds like you're installing for All Users; try installing for You Only, and let us know how that goes. The team is aware of issues with privilege elevation, but while they sort that out you should at least be able to get your install up and running for yourself.

I try everything.

For all, for me, custom, with root previlege and wihtout.

7.0.0 RC 3 work just fine! But not the stable edition.
