"universal app"

seems about as ambiguous as one can be . . .

what? Runs on Mac OS 7, 8,9, 10 & 11 on PPC, INTEL and ARM . . .

That would be a wonderful thing indeed.

Can you be a bit more specific?

The question seems unambiguous in this context for me.
Monsieur wants to know if LC will support INTEL and ARM architecture in one UNIVERSAL app, n'est-ce pas?

I dare to say: Yes, sure! :D

Then this has already been discussed elsewhere:

Of course, now the "Apple Silicon" machines are available for purchase, and macOS 11.0.1 has bee releases, we wonder when
LIvecode will release a version of Livecode that:

1. Runs on Apple ARM machines.

2. Can build standalones for both Apple ARM and Apple INTEL machines.

GitHub shows very recent activity for the latest macOS:
https://github.com/livecode/livecode/pulse

Do these newer Macs provide no means of running existing macOS apps?

Yes, they do, with Rosetta 2, but, like the "Classic mode", it probably won't hang around for long.

Apple supported Classic mode for about a decade. LiveCode (then MetaCard) had an OS X-native engine in the first year. I'd guess we'll see a similar pattern with Apple's latest architectural shift.

Apple supported Classic mode for about a decade.
Mac OS 10.0 was released in 2001

Mac OS 10.5 (which did not have support for 'Classic') was released in 2007, and was the
last version to offer PPC software support.

2007 - 2001 = 6

If 2007 was the release date, when did support end?
