If I double click on it, it appears to start to start, then goes away. If I run it from the terminal just as you typed it (and a few other variations), says it is a directory.

Those results after the chmod in many variations including sudo.

Yeah, I had my syntax wrong. From the terminal it should be:

Code: Select all

open MyApp.app
But, if it isn't working with a double click, I doubt it would work from a command either. Most strange. Did you try doing a fresh copy to be sure some other permission didn't get changed unintentionally?

Yes, it had occurred to me that the original chmod attempt, run against the entire folder, might have inadverdently changed something it aught not have, so all testing past that I unzip a fresh copy to the desktop and run the test. My trash can icon has never had this large a work out heh.

At this point, I'm thinking it is something beyond Lc, although what it might be has me somewhat stumped.
