Playing videos on Windows

We have a Windows/Mac app that plays videos.

We have found that some of our Windows users are experiencing problems playing the videos, such as a green screen instead of video. We found one workaround that solved the problem for a few people - unchecking the "Enable DirectDraw Acceleration" in the QT preferences.

But, some people are still having problems playing the video. They seem to be on older PCs running slow processors.

So far, we've tried the following video codecs:

- QT with H264: plays jerky for some users
- QT with Sorenson 3: plays jerky for some users
- WMV: cannot get to play in a player object in Rev

I hope we don't have to resort to MPEG1, the quality is poor and file sizes too large.

What are you all using for Windows users other than Quicktime?

I haven't tried it yet but I guess *.AVI is a good option because it's the native in Windows...
