I have Rev 2.8.0 installed under Vista, and I want to upgrde to 2.8.1. There are reasons to want to delete/uninstall 2.8.0 before hand, but Vista tells me that I do not have enough privileges! I am logged on as Adminstrator - I didn't think there was a higher level! What superpowers can I expect?
Seriously, can anyone help with a manual uninstall...
I hate Vista! It came with the laptop, and I would not have chosen it.
Thanks

Hi rbeynon,
You might need to give the uninstaller admin rights. There should be a property panel for that. An explanation can be found here:

Also, I would report this problem as a bug.
Best,
Mark

Re: Can't unisntall under Vista
I am having the same problem uninstalling under Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I am trying to uninstall Revolution 4.0.0, and the uninstaller gives me an error saying that "you do not have sufficient access to uninstall Revolution Media. Please contact your system administrator." I am the administrator. I have complete administrator rights.
This is troublesome. If I must "elevate" the level of the uninstaller, how do I do it within the Windows 7 framework, where uninstallers are hidden? If I have to report this as a bug after the OP did so two years ago, where do I report it?

Re: Can't unisntall under Vista
Figured it out.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Revolution Media 4.0.0\Installation Data
Run "Uninstaller.exe" as Administrator.
Make sure that Revolution is not running or the uninstaller will hang.
Revolution will uninstall.
There's still a bug -- why can't the Uninstaller ask for sufficient privileges from the Add/Remove Programs screen? And why can't it shut down Revolution if it is running?
