How do I play a WMV video, on Windows 7, without Quicktime and with native Controller?
Tell me how do I do this simple multimidia resource.
Don't tell me that I have to go back in 1998 when I had to create my own playback controll for AVI videos on the old Windows 98 using the old Macromedia Director.

Show the controller is the least of my problems. I see now that WMV or any format of video for Windows and their version of Windows Media Player is a recurring problem without solution here in this forum. Honestly, it's disappointing. I work with Mac but the large target audience is Windows. My publications are for them, ordinary people.

Hi ricardo,

the sad truth is:
You cannot use LiveCode to play NON-QuickTime multimedia content reliably on Windows!

Don't shoot the messenger, thanks 8)

Thanks Klaus, I didn't think to shoot you, on the contrary, I am grateful for your realistic and synthetic. I saw some discussions on this forum about this subject but no one is being critical. I like very much Livecode. I use it about a year. I am not a code boy. I am a content guy. And video is a content recurring. How I said, my public is Windows. Then I need a good control over videos. I used Director from Adobe/Macromedia/Macromind. Director was good with AVI, MOV, MPEG, WMV and VOB (dvd native format). But Adobe dislike Director, Authoware and FreeHand (and others). Adobe like Flash. Flash dislike MPEG and others like iOS. A conscious person should not use Adobe Director and Flash and Flex. What would be the way? I'd like a good one and cross-platform multimedia tool. It exist?
