Thank you for this. I was also working on the same as you.

Re: rsIsValid(Validation functions) and a call for contributors
While I thank you forgetting highlighting this useful library extension, not sore what your comment is about?
Is it about people not engaging with the author?
I would argue that in part it’s because it has been released an LCB project which makes it more difficult for others to properly contribute.
If your comment is about this not being developed further, I would just highlight that it’s on GitHub, so you can fork it and create your own branch and modify it to your heart’s extent.
In fact I just did that for myself and will likely change several things (eg add validation for UK post codes, NHS numbers and UK national insurance numbers) and will like release as a script-only stack library rather than an LCB library… would be a lot easier to maintain, easier for others to contribute to with GitHub’s pull/merge functionality and easier for all to use.
What really bothers me though is that over the years many clever people have done things like this and they’re all lost from consciousness. Yes they’re an entry somewhere in the forum but that can be very difficult indeed to search. Which brings me back to my old pet peeve of LC ltd not having done the work to get the language recognised on GitHub, so it’s much more difficult to search for things like these…. It would be so much easier to search for LC related stuff if it were…
Other that using GitHub to index LC code, the alternative would be for someone to scour, assess and modernise forum entries for nuggets like this which seems impossibly Herculean…

Re: rsIsValid(Validation functions) and a call for contributors
Please check my understanding.
Over the years a number of useful snips of code have been written but have in effect been lost (or at least misplaced). These snips could be library stacks, custom controls, example handlers, extensions, widgets etc etc and at the moment there is nowhere to store / download / search for these components?
If I have understood correctly then lets start a new thread to discuss the options.

The problem with a “new thread” approach is the list needs curating. And rather than a thread I wonder if it should be a subforum, otherwise we’ll end up with another massive thread with so many pages that no one will read and things will remain lost.
Ideally there would be a way to further categorise posts with for example tags, but as as I know tags/hashtags aren’t supported by phpBB.
But the really difficult issue is that people would need to trawl the forums for nuggets, refine them for general use and re-post. That is too time consuming I suspect.
This needs doing of course, the who, when and how remain tricky questions…
