FolderWasher - deletes specific OS invisible files

Post by Zax » Fri Mar 01, 2024 8:27 am

For a dropped folder, FolderWasher allows you to delete invisible files used by MacOS and useless under Windows (like ".DS_Store" files), as well as the opposite (like "Thumb.db" files).
Possibility of zipping the dropped folder, so that these invisible files are not recreated by the OS.
It is possible to create a custom list of exceptions.

Convenient for moving cleaned folders from one platform to another.

So with mistakenly deleted folders, is there any way to restore them?
Well, it depends of your OS.
As it is said in the "Help/About" window:
WARNING: deleted files are moved to trash on MacOS but there are permanently deleted on Windows and cannot be recovered.

BTW, FolderWasher doesn't delete folders, just files, unless the folders have been compressed as .zip files.
This is an idea for an update to not delete the .zip, .rar, .iso and .dmg files.
