Added my services on Fiverr

Post by AndyP » Tue Dec 13, 2022 6:12 pm

Unfortunately my wife is now unable to work due to illness, so I've taken the plunge and now have a gig up on Fiverr to try and make a little extra income for the family.

At the moment Fiverr does not recognize LiveCode as a language, I'm in contact with Fiverr to try and get this actioned, so the direct link is the way to go.

If you are interested in my services, then please scroll down to the bottom of my gig page and use the Contact Seller option to message me.

If there is any problem with this post, please let me know and I will take down.

I feel for you there Andy, what with my wife's spine (not so) slowly disintegrating. Hope it goes well for you.

I had a look to see if I could add some positive feedback/ratings etc but Fiverr doesn’t seem to indulge in such things. Or did I miss it?

Thanks for looking into this.
Yep Fiverr is a bit strange. Apart from giving feedback on work done, I believe that feedback can be given on a how the seller responds to messages even if no orders are placed. Promptness in replying to messages also helps to propel you up the ratings and seems that differences in time zones are automatically taken into account..still learning.

Hi I thought I would share my experiences on fiverr so far.
Big news, I received and completed my first order, very surprised to receive an order so quickly, it' apparently very unusual for new suppliers to get order within the first 2 months!

This was for LiveCode code review. The code submitted was of a very high quality but had many handlers and functions all of which had to be tested.
I totally under estimated the time required to build a test stack for this and also had a few problems with the fiverr platform. I'm treating all of this as a positive learning experience. And I received a 5 star rating, so another positive.

I've also received an inquiry for an application related to Commercial aircraft services here in Germany, this has the potential to be a large project as this company's equipment is used worldwide by many of the large carriers.

So to sum up. So far a very encouraging and unexpected start.

Great news Andy!

If you can convert desktop projects to mobile that would I’m sure be another area of interest for many LiveCode devs.

Hi Stam, Yes it could be but, at the moment I think I will stay with Windows desktop. This is a platform I'm very comfortable with and I believe that I can supply desktop apps for most use cases.

I'm considering writing a blog on my fiverr experiences, where I can go a little more in-depth on my fiverr freelance journey, and I definitely need to raise my prices!

The code review is an interesting case. What happened to the original dev, and what prompted the desire for external review?

I have no information on this, no reason for the review was given or asked.
The code review was for a single script only library, not a full app.

I used their app to search. Not sure what options you have as a seller to hit search criteria - but certainly you don’t show up searching for rapid, windows or cross platform app development. And searching for livecode brings up zero hits.

Is there much you can do to improve exposure on searches on fiverr?
